Houston Texans owner Bob McNair had staff members check the team’s locker room to make sure that players were not using substances that were either banned or not approved by the NFL. The news was first reported by USA Today.
Two Texans players — left tackle Duane Brown and linebacker Brian Cushing — served four-game suspensions for violating league banned substance policy. As a result, McNair had staff members check lockers and remove products that were not specifically approved by the NFL. The examination took place about a month ago.
“We concluded that one thing we can do is to just go through the locker room and make sure that if anybody is using anything, it’s a product from one of the approved manufacturers,” McNair said. “That’s about all that we can do.”
